Kate Halfpenny is the Founder of British luxury bridal wear brand, Halfpenny London.

Founded in London in 2005, Halfpenny London has become one of the UK’s leading high-end bridal wear brands, with a flagship store in central London and presence in some of the most highly regarded bridal boutiques across the UK and internationally. Weaving Brit cool with a luxe sensibility, Kate creates innovative, chic dresses and separates for the modern bride.

Kate graduated with a BA Honours degree in Fashion Design in 1998 followed by a Masters in textile design from London’s prestigious Central St Martins. Before founding Halfpenny London, Kate worked at the centre of London’s fashion industry, first for Vivienne Westwood and then for ground-breaking costume designers The New Renaissance.

It was at this time that Kate successfully carved a career as a freelance stylist and soon began creating dresses for her celebrity clients, from Rihanna to British icons Emilia Fox, Erin O’Connor and Kate Moss. It was after actress Emilia Fox wore one of Kate’s intricate silk floral creations on her wedding day that Halfpenny London was born; inundated with requests and following a subsequent Vogue interview, Kate founded her eponymous wedding dress brand.

A fabric obsessive, Kate’s collections are filled with the finest materials, sourced from all over the world and detailed with delicate trims and intricate embroidery. This incredible knowledge of textiles combined with Kate’s styling skills allow her to create pieces for the contemporary woman – whether fashion-forward or the traditional bride. Kate’s collections of innovative dresses and interchangeable separates are coveted worldwide and have earned her global recognition.
